China is all about the people you share it with

China is literally about people. It is the people that make it what it is. I know that now.

Tonight, spending time with my really really really good girlfriend who is a Chinese native who just graduated from my university and a Chinese delegate from the symposium I helped run last November, I was happier than a clam (I’ve never used that phrase before, but speaking Chinese all the time will do that to you).

My girlfriend is a one of a kind boss of a lady. She is beyond badass and I look up to her bamf-assery in every way. Words cannot describe how much I love this lady friend of mine. : ) She’s gotta be one of the most badassest women on the face of the earth/China.

My guy friend is a student at China’s best university who also runs a giant Chinese conflict-resolution organization on the side. Today he revealed to me that he has some sexuality queerness going on and informed me of his queer friends he can hook me up with. How happy am I???? Queer lad and lady friends??? Sign me up!

Like, with this combination of people, we’re just too much for the world to handle! I would take Beijing by storm!

Unfortunately they’re both leaving the city for the summer in a week and I’m leaving the city for a week on Tuesday night. : ( So, that means I had to say goodbye to my lady friend, probably for a good long time.

It was actually heart-breaking. We had 2 way too short hours to catch up on soooo many things. I haven’t seen her since December really because her graduation took up a lot of time. I actually learned that we have two really awesome friends in common and one of them was actually her roommate last year, so I realized all the potential awesome hanging out between my university’s 4 most radical women. XD I’m not actually exaggerating that much; 3/4 of us are in the business of planning revolutions and one is actually making a lot of headway.

Like, who the hell are my friends?? XD A bunch of crazy ass bitches, that’s who. <3 <3 <3

This lovely rendezvous with friends comes at a perfect time, after I’ve lost my bank card, offended someone I love back home and made them feel like I was using them, and been having a rough couple weeks in China in general.

Of course, it’s sunday night and I haven’t studied hardly at all for my midterm on Tuesday, I haven’t worked AT ALL on my speech test tomorrow, and I haven’t done the homework due tomorrow.

Whatevs, it’s midnight so I guess it’s not getting done tonight. Tomorrow’s always another day.

Sigh. Why can’t my friends be with me forever? I am so lucky to have them. At least I’ll see my guy friend on Tuesday (and meet his queer friends!!!).

Gotta love friendships. <3
